The country’s leading supplier of quality used and re-manufactured refuse vehicles, Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS), is bringing an exciting new feature to the PAWRS show this year. RVS’ RCV Driving Challenge invites visitors to manoeuvre a brand new custom-made remote control RCV around a special circuit, in return for a small donation to Cancer Research.
Spencer Law, Managing Director, RVS said: “We have been looking for a fun, relevant way of raising money for our chosen charity and we think we have found just that. I’m sure it will be a big hit with our waste management colleagues and visitors to the show. The vehicle is a fully operational replica of the real thing and we will be expecting participants to perform some complicated manoeuvres! The vehicle and circuit will be present at all the shows we are attending this summer and hope to raise lots of money.”
The person who completes the circuit in the quickest time at PAWRS will receive a Kindle Fire as a prize, and RVS will host a similar challenge at the RWM show later in the year.
Dennis Eagle has part-sponsored the production of the remote control RCV, which is 70cm long x 23 cm wide and modelled on an Olympus 6 x 4 Dennis cab with fully functioning Beta 2 bin-lift.
Richard Taylor, Sales & Marketing Director, Dennis Eagle: “We were delighted to be part of RVS’ fundraising initiative and we have already made a donation to get things started. It will undoubtedly be a very popular attraction with visitors at the show. I shall definitely be giving it a go!”
On its stand at the show RVS will also be presenting three ‘versions’ of the same 2004 RCV demonstrating the quality of workmanship involved in creating an RVS truck. A 26 t 6x4 ‘untouched’ Dennis Elite 2 with Phoenix 2 body will stand alongside an RVS ‘quality used’ Dennis Elite 2 plus a new Dennis Elite 2 chassis with ‘re-manufactured’ Phoenix 2 body, so that visitors can see the transformation for themselves.
RVS specialises in revitalising second hand dust-carts, stripping them down and replacing or repairing worn or defective parts to provide high quality ‘as new’ vehicles that are fully serviced & inspected, and cost a fraction of the price of a new vehicle but offer the same operational longevity.
RVS is sponsoring the Municipal Vehicle Rental Company of The Year Award this year, which will be presented at the PAWRS Awards Gala Dinner taking place on 12 June at the Riviera International Centre in Paignton.
