The Shorts Group, based in Ascot, is expanding its trade waste collection fleet with two re-manufactured vehicles from Refuse Vehicle Solutions.
The company has been providing a diverse range of services including plant & skip hire, agricultural contracting, waste management and demolition, for over 50 years and recently acquired two RCV’s from re-manufacturing specialists Refuse Vehicle Solutions. The identical vehicles - Mercedes Econic, Ros Roca Cross 205 bodies with Terberg OmniDel bin lifts – will be used for Shorts’ growing trade waste division.
Mike Banham, General Manager, Shorts Group said: “Historically we have purchased new vehicles, but the quality of refuse trucks from RVS is difficult to tell apart from new vehicles, and the cost is around 40% less, which is significant. All in all we felt the RVS vehicles offered us a better spend for our money and we’re not disappointed. The vehicles are immaculate.”
Offering a complete trade waste service, Shorts supplies bins, collects the waste and processes it through its new Waste Transfer Station in Aldershot, which opened in January 2012.
Mike added: “We aim for a 100% recovery service with zero landfill waste where possible.”
Refuse Vehicle Solutions is the UK’s leading provider of high quality used and re-manufactured refuse vehicles, with the expertise and resources to engineer a vehicle to meet a customer’s precise requirements, including full or partial body re-manufacturing.
