Swindon Commercial Services Ltd (SCS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Swindon Borough Council, has just acquired two re-manufactured 2008 Volvo FM, Telehoist TL22 hook-loaders from Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS).
The vehicles will replace long-term hire vehicles that aren’t proving to be cost effective. RVS has now supplied a total of 9 vehicles to the Authority including a fleet of six identical RCV’s earlier this year.
Martin Britchford, Fleet Buyer, Swindon Commercial Services Limited said: “We are impressed with the speed in which RVS can turn around vehicles and the quality of those vehicles, plus their after sales support is very good.”
Continued Martin: “Hiring vehicles just wasn’t proving very cost efficient so we decided to look into acquiring our own vehicles. We asked RVS to search the market place for some hook-lifts and two immaculate vehicles were presented to us 6 weeks later. We saved around 40% compared with the cost of a new vehicle, but with the equivalent lifetime and operational standards.”
Spencer Law, Managing Director, Refuse Vehicle Solutions said: “We pride ourselves on building up long-standing relationships with our customers and we do that by making sure that our vehicles meet the highest of standards. In terms of delivery we usually beat manufacturer’s lead times by a long chalk.”
Refuse Vehicle Solutions is the UK’s leading provider of high quality used and re-manufactured refuse vehicles, with the expertise and resources to engineer a vehicle to meet a customer’s precise requirements, including full or partial body re-manufacturing.
