Two waste and recycling operators in the South East are expanding their businesses with quality used vehicles from Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS), increasing operational capacity without the huge capital cost of purchasing new vehicles.
Spencer Law said: “We keep a rolling stock of around 30 vehicles but if we don’t have what a customer wants we go out and find it. In a lot of cases our customers’ businesses are growing fast and they need vehicles immediately. We offer a bespoke service and we have the specialist skills to modify vehicles to each customer’s precise requirements.”
Equinox Recycling was set up a few years ago by Andy Gibbons who has over 20 years experience in the waste management sector. The company began with just two vehicles and the fleet has grown steadily in line with customer demand. Andy first came into contact with Spencer Law and the team in 2012 when he needed a modified Rear End Loader to empty skips and lift 1100 litre bins.
Andy Gibbons, Managing Director, Equinox Recycling said: “I got in touch with RVS and they had a vehicle matching our needs. They re-manufactured the body and bin-lifts to such a superb standard, all within 6 weeks, and the vehicle is still going strong today.
“We knew exactly where to go when we needed a hook-lift and RVS has come up trumps again. The vehicle, a 2008 Daf CF, Boughton Hooklift with sheeting system has been painted and is fully MOT’d ready for work.”
Spectrum Recycling (previously London Waste Solutions) has been operating in the capital for over 20 years and was set up by managing director Vince Whelan. Spectrum services some of London’s most cherished landmarks and prestigious buildings. They first contacted RVS to source a vehicle to trial their new food collection service. RVS modified a 2005 Daf LF55, sealing and water proofing the container to take food waste.
Recently Spectrum have returned to RVS to purchase a fully serviced, MOT’d and painted 2008 Scania Terberg Toploader
Vince Whelan said: “We are delighted with the service from RVS and the vehicle is in stunning condition. We will definitely come back to RVS in the future when we need more vehicles.”
