Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS) has been invited to take part in the annual Cart Marking Ceremony held by the City of London Corporation at the Guildhall on Wednesday 12 July 2017.
RVS is bringing a fully restored original 1978 Smith Cabac ’75 Electric Street Cleansing Vehicle to the event. The vehicle is being wrapped in City of London livery by EPIC Media. It will join a parade of horse drawn wagons, vintage lorries, buses, coaches, modern trucks and tractors through the Guildhall Yard where it will be branded with a red hot iron by the Keeper of the Guildhall. The Lord Mayor will also be in attendance and the event is open to the public.
The ceremony, now in its 500th year, is held by the Worshipful Company of Carmen, a livery company of the City of London. Historically cart marketing originated the rule that no cart could ply for hire within the City of London unless licensed (and marked) by the Carmen.
Spencer Law, Managing Director, RVS, said: “It is an honour to be asked to take part in this historic tradition. Our vehicle promises to look very impressive and we encourage people to come along to see it along with the other vehicles in the parade.”
RVS provides a complete one stop solution for refuse vehicle operators, supplying a wide range refuse vehicles – new, Quality Used and Remanufactured – as well as a host of support services comprising repairs, service, hire vehicles, breakdown cover, parts, finance and vehicle transportation.
