Pakawaste Continues To Expand With Fleet From RVS

Pakawaste Municipal Hire launched in 2011 with a small fleet of re-manufactured RCV’s provided by Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS).  The company has expanded quickly and now boasts a fleet of over 50 vehicles, including hook lifts and tippers with plans to double the fleet over the next 12 months.

In 2011 Pakawaste approached RVS with a request for seven refuse trucks, with identical specification, to be delivered in an almost impossible 6-week time frame. RVS rose to the challenge and delivered the ‘as new’ vehicles on time.

Gloucestershire-based RVS has earned a reputation for high quality used refuse vehicles and immaculate ‘as new’ re-manufacturing. From built to order vehicles with a fully re-manufactured body mounted onto a new chassis, to Quality Used Vehicles that are LOLER certified, with 12 months MOT and fully serviced, RVS offers a tailor-made service for its customers that includes warranties on all its vehicles.

Spencer Law, Managing Director, Refuse Vehicle Solutions said: “We like a challenge! In most cases we can beat manufacturer’s lead times plus our customers get a vehicle with the same life of a new vehicle at around 40% less cost, so it’s win win for them.  It’s great to see Pakawaste thriving.  By the end of this year we’ll have supplied around 20 vehicles for their hire division.”

The latest tranche of vehicles supplied to Pakawaste by RVS comprised: a 2008 Dennis Elite 2, Phoenix 2 body with a Terberg OmniDel bin lift; a new Daf LF chassis with re-manufactured NTM body and trade bin lift; an Isuzu NQR with a Farid Minimatic body and trade bin lift; and a 2005 Dennis Elite 2 with Phoenix 2 body and Terberg TCA DEL Bin Lift.

Pakawaste Municipal Hire offers interim and long term hire of a wide range of municipal vehicles and plant, with optional maintenance and service packages. The company belongs to the Pakawaste group which has been providing waste handling equipment and systems for over 30 years.

David Hamer, Managing Director, Pakawaste said: “RVS have been a crucial partner in helping our business to grow to meet customer demand. We need to have good quality, reliable vehicles available when and where they are needed. This can mean short lead times and vehicles need to be turned around quickly.  Spencer and his team have never let us down.  You can tell a Refuse Vehicle Solutions vehicle apart because of the quality.  The vehicles look and last as if they are brand new, plus the back-up is second to none.”
