Nationwide waste and recycling collection company Wastecollection.com is reducing vehicle downtime and improving the reliability of its fleet by procuring new vehicles on contract hire.
Karol Wozniak, Operations Manager, Wastecollection.com said: “We don’t run our own workshops so we were looking to obtain new vehicles on a contract hire basis with full maintenance included. With our current fleet we tend to use local mechanics but this can cause delays and vehicles can then be out of action for an unacceptable period of time.”
Wastecollection.com is expanding rapidly, doubling its revenue in London alone this year. To keep up with the pace of demand the company is replacing its older vehicles with brand new refuse vehicles from Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS).
RVS has a service called RediTruck, which provides brand new, ready for work vehicles, available immediately, from stock. The vehicles can be purchased outright or through a contract hire agreement.

A 4x2 DAF chassis with Dennis body, fitted with bin weighing from VWS, has been delivered to Wastecollection.com and the company has already placed an order for another vehicle, which is due in January.
Karol continued: “A great benefit of using RVS is that we don’t have to wait the extensive lead times of up to 9 months often required by Manufacturers. RVS has new vehicles in stock, which they can equip with whatever ancillary equipment we require, such as weighing. Their maintenance services are superb and include breakdown recovery, plus they have a big hire fleet so they can provide us with interim vehicles quickly. The standard of vehicles and customer service is excellent and they can fulfil all of our needs.”
